Supervision system for cryobanks

Safeguarding and Automation - Keywords of the Cryopreservation of the Future

Cryogenic preservation, or the storage of biological materials in liquid nitrogen at low temperatures, represents a crucial innovation in the biomedical field, modern medicine, and scientific research.

Cryobanks, primarily located in hospitals, research laboratories, and assisted reproduction centers (P.M.A.), specialize in collecting, preserving, and managing a wide range of valuable biological samples, offering the possibility of preserving life at the cellular level.

Cryogenic tanks and lines, containers, freezers, oxygenation system, environmental control system, ventilation, access control, and surveillance: these are the elements that must collaborate to ensure safe and automated management of the samples.

The integration of automated systems in cryobank control represents a qualitative leap in terms of efficiency and safety. These systems allow monitoring storage conditions, real-time monitoring of biological samples, functioning of the structure in all its most important parts, safeguarding the health and safety of operators such as researchers, doctors, specific staff, optimizing sample management, significantly reducing the margin of error, and improving daily operations.

S.I.G has designed CRYOMED, a cutting-edge solution developed to meet every need in the field of cryopreservation and automation.

The system is based on a hierarchical, modular and scalable architecture that can adapt to operational realities of any size, from small biobanks to complex structures. Thanks to this structure, CRYOMED allows for simple and non-invasive expansion, also facilitating maintenance and updating.

JB – CONTROLLER

It is the main control unit with the ability to aggregate information, process it and transmit it to the supervision software via a LAN connection (client-server mode).

JB – DEVICE

Each JBD connects directly to equipment equipped with a serial port and acts intelligently, implementing specific communication protocols for each device, based on the manufacturer and model.

NEVALIS – il Software di Supervisione Intelligente

The supervision software allows for centralised and coordinated management of all connected equipment, offering an intuitive user interface that is accessible even to non-technical personnel. Advanced features include:

  • Real-time visualisation of equipment status through an interactive, explorable 3D interface
  • Alarm and notification management for abnormal conditions
  • Analysis and history of alarms, with the option to download data in PDF and Excel format
  • Staff access management, with complete traceability of movements and operations performed
